Kelley Tuthill, of WCVB-TV, has signed on as the event’s honorary chairperson. She has served as the co-anchor of the weekend edition of NewsCenter 5’s EyeOpener and is a substitute anchor.
As a breast cancer survivor, Tuthill has shared her very personal battle, from diagnosis to recovery, with the Channel 5 family of viewers and online users. Her frank, personal diary on TheBostonChannel.com has received more than one million page views since its launch in January 2007. Tuthill has become a champion of local and national breast cancer organizations, raising both money and awareness, and is also a frequent speaker at schools and community organizations.
Hats On will begin at 4:30 p.m. with cocktails and shopping provided from local artisans. The evening will continue with dinner and the runway fashion show at 6:30 p.m. featuring the latest in both women’s and men’s couture from Giblees of Danvers and worn by models from the top modelling agency in Boston, Dynasty Models & Talent. Tickets are $55 per person, $500 for a table of 10. Donations can also be made to a special Tribute Board honoring those whose lives have been touched by cancer.
The Hallmark Health Cancer Center was recently awarded Approval with Commendations from the American College of Surgeons, recognizing the high quality of its programs. This approval means that the Cancer Center will continue its designation as a “Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program.”
The center offers a continuum of cancer care from prevention and early detection to diagnosis and treatment. Its multidisciplinary cancer care teams of primary care physicians, surgeons, pathologists, oncologists, hematologists, radiation oncologists, nurses, social workers and nutritionists work together to provide each patient with a focused and individualized care plan throughout all phases of diagnosis, support and treatment. Whether you have been newly diagnosed, are a new patient, or are currently receiving treatment, Hallmark Health’s breadth of patient care services focuses on treating the whole patient, not just the disease.
The center is a member of Hallmark Health System, the premier, charitable provider of vital health services to Boston’s northern communities. The system includes Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford and Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
