Horton, a resident of Amesbury, works as a central scheduling/ancillary support associate in the Patient Access Department and has been with Hallmark Health since 2001. Her co-workers recognized her patience with patient callers, her ability to take many calls and get them done quickly without making the caller feel rushed and her unparalleled customer service skills. Horton keeps herself occupied with a number of different tasks throughout the day and in between phone calls she takes the initiative to come up with ideas to improve the department.
The employee of the year is chosen by Hallmark Health’s Rewards and Recognition Team, a group of employees charged with developing and implementing recognition programs to ensure deserving employees are rewarded. The team reviewed the nominations of the 12 exemplary employees that had been chosen as employee of the month throughout the year. Ultimately the Rewards and Recognition Team selected Horton because of her commitment to service excellence and ensuring Hallmark Health continues to be the region’s system of choice.
The employee of the year announcement was made by Michael V. Sack, president and CEO of Hallmark Health, during a reception on Jan. 28 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford. As employee of the year, Horton will receive a week of Paid Time Off (PTO) as well as a check for $1,000.
