Feb. 2, 2012- Hallmark Health System, which includes Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford and Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, employs thousands of outstanding men and women but one stood out recently – Aminda Monteagudo, who was named the organization’s 2011 Employee of the Year.
Monteagudo, a resident of Boston, has been with Hallmark Health System since 2004 and is currently working as a lead financial counselor in the patient accounts department where she leads a team of financial counselors dedicated to helping patients understand and navigate the confusing and at times overwhelming world of health insurance coverage and connecting people to available resources. She has been recognized by many co-workers and patients for her compassion and caring nature.
Monteagudo is also a member of Hallmark Health System’s Diversity Committee and has incorporated much of that into her daily work environment. She has volunteered her own time on numerous occasions to attend community benefit fairs, which fall on nights and weekends. Monteagudo is very good at educating people about financial assistance programs and navigating them through the confusing world of health insurance enrollment.
The employee of the year is chosen by Hallmark Health System’s Rewards and Recognition Team, a group of employees charged with developing and implementing recognition programs to ensure deserving employees are recognized. The team reviewed the nominations of the 12 exemplary employees that had been chosen as employee of the month throughout the year. Ultimately the Rewards and Recognition Team selected Monteagudo because of her commitment to service excellence and ensuring Hallmark Health System continues to be the region’s system of choice.
The employee of the year announcement was made by Michael V. Sack, president and CEO of Hallmark Health System, during a reception on Jan. 26 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford.
Suggested cutline: (L:R) Richard Kenny, system vice president of human resources at Hallmark Health System, Aminda Monteagudo, Hallmark Health System’s 2011 Employee of the Year, and Michael V. Sack, president and chief executive officer of Hallmark Health System.
